January trip to Kambia
Jen David has recently returned from a two week visit to Kambia. During this time she facilitated some trauma training in the local hospital with the help of three UK based surgeons who kindly gave up their time to share their knowledge with local medical staff.
In addition Jen visited our primary school in Masama and also managed to travel to Bayande (no mean feat with a terrible road to navigate) to check on building progress at the new secondary school. Having met the specialist contractors and the village elders it is hoped that the school will be open for pupils at the beginning of September but with the rainy season due to start in June it is imperative that all materials are on site by this time.
